The Minds Behind

Dohrnii

Researchers, physicians, and engineers united by a mission to make clinical AI accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Vishwajith Ramesh, PhD

CEO & Founder

Vish is an AI researcher and entrepreneur building accessible healthcare AI for underserved communities. He holds a PhD in applied deep learning for healthcare, where his dissertation earned the Engelson Award for the department's highest-rated thesis. His research on machine learning for neurological and respiratory disease diagnosis has been published in Nature Digital Medicine, IEEE, and leading telemedicine journals. He holds provisional patents for AI-based clinical decision support and has led research collaborations with IBM and Samsung Research on disease monitoring from wearable sensors.

Vish's work has been supported by the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, the Siebel Scholarship, and grants from NSF and NIH. He previously served as a postdoctoral researcher in Biomedical Informatics at UCSD School of Medicine and visiting faculty in Computer Science.

Dhanusha Subramani, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Subramani is a physician and General Medical Officer in the United States Navy. As Dohrnii's CMO since 2023, she provides clinical oversight to ensure the platform aligns with evidence-based practices and real-world provider workflows. She collaborates with the engineering team to develop and validate Dohrnii's LLM-assisted clinical decision support system, with a current focus on deployment in rural India. Her work bridges medicine and technology - designing intuitive interfaces for time-sensitive clinical domains and ensuring AI tools meet the needs of physicians on the front lines.

Dr. Subramani earned her MD from The George Washington University School of Medicine and her BS from Georgia Institute of Technology. Her military medical experience provides critical insight into healthcare delivery in resource-constrained and high-stakes environments.

Our Origin

The Story of

Dohrnii

During his PhD, Vish spent years developing AI systems to detect strokes and Parkinson's symptoms from video and audio. The models worked - but they required cloud connectivity, expensive infrastructure, and constant retraining. For the communities that needed them most, they were unusable.

Meanwhile, Dhanusha was seeing the same gap from the clinical side. As a physician, she watched colleagues spend hours on documentation instead of patients - and knew that physicians in low-resource settings faced even greater burdens with fewer tools. They realized the problem wasn't AI capability. It was accessibility. The most advanced clinical AI in the world is worthless if it can't run where care happens.

That's why they built Dohrnii. LLMs have reached clinical capability - but hallucination and cloud dependency remain barriers to adoption. Dohrnii's knowledge graph architecture solves both: ontology-grounded reasoning eliminates hallucination at the source, and continual learning via on-device triplet extraction means the system stays current without retraining or internet access.

Clinical AI that is accurate, private, auditable – and actually works where care happens.
